Test Your Limits to Reach Your Potential

limitations

Do you truly know your limits? You might think you have a solid grasp on your capabilities. For instance, if you’re a runner, you likely have a specific time in mind for how fast you can run a mile. You might consider this your limit and confidently state that number when asked.

Before you can start to plan your success goals, there are many things that you need to understand before you can be sure that the goals you set are really the ones you want.

One of those things is to determine if there are any Limiting Beliefs that can stop you from actually achieving those goals.

I have a self-study Limiting Belief Program that you can go through to determine what your Limiting Beliefs are and how you can remove them.

You can read more and register for the program at Limiting Beliefs Program on my Confidence and Life Coaching website.

Start your journey on your path to success by identifying and removing your Limiting Beliefs so that you make the journey a lot easier.

But is it really your limit?

In reality, you won’t know your true limits until you push past them. Your current mile time might reflect what you can achieve comfortably with minimal effort. However, in a crisis, you might discover you can run significantly faster.

Similarly, with goal setting, you often set perceived limits for yourself. But how accurate are they? It’s time to find out by testing them.

Passion Knows No Bounds

When you’re passionate about something, your natural inclination is to push the boundaries. Begin by assessing your excitement level. A strong urge to dive into a project indicates you’re already testing your limits.

Break It Down

If you want to explore your passion but feel constrained, break down the necessary steps and focus on the next one. For example, if you run an 11-minute mile but aim for an 8-minute mile, pushing too hard too fast can lead to injury. Instead, aim for incremental improvements, such as 10 minutes and 45 seconds. Achieve that, then set the next small goal, gradually pushing your limits.

Push Daily

Incorporate small, daily challenges to push yourself. This regular effort leads to incremental growth and eventually forms a habit of daily self-improvement.

Always Seek the Next Mountain

Once you reach a goal, don’t consider it the end. Like mountain climbers who always seek the next peak, continually look for new challenges. Imagine a life of ongoing growth with no true limits.

Testing your limits is crucial for realizing your full potential. By constantly pushing yourself, you’ll continually demonstrate your capabilities to yourself and others. The discoveries you make in the process will astonish you.
