Follow These 10 Steps To Build Your Self-confidence

10 Easy Ways to Build Self-Confidence

Fireman and fire - self confidenceYou probably know someone who just exudes confidence. You might even have wondered, “What’s his secret? How can he be so positive about himself?” The good news is that you, too, could be that confident. Yes, you could be the one that everyone envies and wonders about!

Surprisingly, self-confidence comes not from some inner gift, but from the things you do. For many, those actions occur naturally or have become ingrained in them. Because such people have done these things a lot in the past, they habitually do them now. By practicing these same actions, you’ll be taking the steps necessary to build your own self-confidence.

Use these strategies to become more self-assured:

1. Take care with your appearance. How you feel about yourself is reflected in your appearance. Ensure your hair is styled and your clothes are well-fitting when you go out. When you know you look great, you feel great about yourself as well.

2. Smile and look people in the eye. When you smile and make eye contact, it shows that you have a certain ease about you. People see this and respond positively toward you, giving you a lift as well!

3. Give genuine compliments to others. Complimenting others shows that you feel good enough about yourself to give positive feedback to others.

4. Know your strengths. Focus on doing whatever you’re best at. You’ll feel like an expert and know without a doubt that you excel in that area.

5. Accept your imperfections. Letting go of the need to be perfect means you’re comfortable enough with yourself to admit your imperfections. After all, we all have them. Imperfections only show that you’re human – not that you’re flawed!

6. Be prepared. Practicing this motto isn’t only for Boy Scouts. Preparedness will show you that you can be successful at whatever you set out to do. Being prepared increases confidence because you know what you’re doing. You’ve practiced in advance to perform whatever needs to be done.

7. Have goals and work to achieve them. When your life has direction, you know where you’re going. You’ll be consistently working toward accomplishing your aspirations. Because you have goals, you’ll see the progress you’re making, and you’ll feel certain you’ll eventually accomplish them.

8. Embrace whatever it is you love. Making time to do what you love makes you happy, content, and excited about your own life. It also makes you feel more in control of your life, which adds to your self-confidence.

9. Excel at work. No matter what kind of work you do, you can strive to be the best at it. Developing a reputation at work as the “go to” person who can always get the job done is a fabulous confidence-builder.

10. Forget about your ego. When you give up the need to prove something, you’ll be free of feeling compelled to put on airs and impress people. Instead, you’ll become more authentic and real with yourself. Prove to yourself instead of to others that you’re competent and confident and others will see it anyway.

Building your self-confidence takes time, focus and effort. However, your faith in yourself will grow with every small step you take. Start today and begin living as the person you always dreamed you’d be.

Take Your Dream To Reality With These 9 Steps

From Dream to Reality in 9 Steps

Today is a perfect day ...Many entrepreneurs will tell you that ideas are the easy part. It’s the implementation that separates the successful from the unsuccessful. Turning an idea into reality is a skill that anyone can learn. Managing yourself and daily action are the most important factors.

What would you do if you knew failure wasn’t possible?

Follow these steps to create your own reality:

1. Be clear regarding your objective. Are you clear about what you want? Success is much more likely if your objective is clear and precise. If you’re too vague, the problem-solving functions of your brain will be too confused to operate optimally.

2. List your resources. Be aware of all the tools you have at your disposal. You have more to work with than you realize. Consider all the people you know that are capable of assisting you. List all of your resources that are relevant to your objective. Perhaps your car,  computer, and local library are valuable tools.

3. Consider the resources you’ll require. Make a list of everything you think you’ll need and compare that list to the list you made of your available resources. How will you make up the difference? Most importantly, ensure you have everything you need to get started. Avoid letting the future stop you from taking action today. If there’s something you’re lacking that you won’t need for six months, you can still get started!

4. Maintain your awareness of your objective. Keep your objective in the front of your mind. The easiest way to do this is to think about it each day. A simple visualization session twice a day is sufficient. Just remind yourself on a daily basis that you have an idea that you want to bring into reality.

5. Avoid trying for perfection. Perhaps the biggest obstacle is the belief that success only comes from taking perfect action. This belief is enough to paralyze your efforts. Consistent, steady action is enough to reach your goals.

6. Make a plan. Avoid waking up each day without a plan of attack. Know how you’re going to spend your day before you go to bed each night. A simple to-do list will guarantee that you can hit the ground running each day.

7. Work your plan. Knowing what to do is only half of the puzzle. It’s important to work your plan consistently. Everyone knows how to lose weight, but there are many overweight people on the planet. Focus on taking simple, effective actions day after day. A river created the Grand Canyon, and your objective is probably less grandiose.

8. Evaluate your progress. Provide yourself with regular feedback. Determine a method of measuring your progress and take regular measurements. Determine if you’re on the right track. How can you enhance your results? Do you need to try another course of action? Seek to improve your approach based on your evaluations.

9. Keep going. If you keep working, measuring your progress, and developing an effective approach, how can you fail? You can only fail if you give up. Enjoy and be proud of the progress you’re making each week. Know that your idea will become a reality.

Success isn’t complicated. Success is the result of maintaining focus and taking appropriate action each day. If you don’t quit, failure isn’t an option. Nothing is more exciting than turning a dream into reality. What life will you create for yourself?

Boost Your Self-Image To Improve Your Life

Boosting Self-Image

self-imageThere’s a lot you can accomplish by having a positive self-image. Your confidence will increase which means that you can deal with more situations. People will respond to your increased self-image in a positive way as well.

The first step to increasing your self-image is to know yourself. You need to understand your capabilities and skills. You also want to determine weaknesses to improve upon. But don’t beat yourself up too much when identifying these. Weaknesses can easily be turned into strengths if you work at them long enough.

Determine what aspects about you are important to change and concentrate on those. There may be aspects that you are not that concerned with and won’t have much effect on your self-image. Ignore those. You can’t and shouldn’t change every aspect of yourself. Sometimes, you should just accept those aspects of your personality and move on.

You need to be willing to change. If you don’t feel good about yourself, you have to make changes to turn that around. Change is never easy, but when it comes to increasing your self-image, you will see that it’s worth the effort.

You can seek out an image consultant to help if you are struggling with doing this yourself. An image consultant is trained in helping people increase their self-image. It can be humbling to hear what the consultant advises but this is part of the process, and you should embrace it. Don’t be afraid to spend some money for a decent consultant. The results they provide will pay for itself.

Keep in mind that no matter what kind of help you get, this is your journey or change. Don’t worry about what others may believe and stop comparing yourself to other people. They don’t have to live your life. You are the one that has to live with the consequences of your new image, both good and bad. Although, try to emphasize only the good whenever possible.

When your self-image improves, just about every aspect of your life will follow. You will have better relationships at home and at work, and you will have a positive attitude. Tasks will seem less challenging partly because people will be more willing to pitch in to help you accomplish them. They will feed off your positive energy and want to be around you more often. This may open opportunities for you that you never thought you would have at your disposal.

Discover What It Takes For Success

Discover What It Takes to be a Winner

For those that like to watch and listen here is the video;

choose success

Winning and losing have some things in common: they are both habits. You probably know someone that can’t win at the game of life, no matter how many advantages he’s given. You also know someone that’s the exact opposite. He wins at everything, even though he doesn’t seem to have any advantages.

Be the winner! Develop the habits that enable you to win consistently:

  1. Set goals. You can’t win if you don’t define the game. Know what you’re trying to accomplish. Set clear goals with reasonable deadlines. Create a target that you find motivating and exciting. Choose the target, but be flexible in your approach to achieving the goal.

  2. Create habits that support your goals. Discipline and willpower are in limited supply. Use them to create the habits you need to reach your goals. Once you have a habit, willpower becomes unnecessary.

  • For example, if your goal is to lose 25 lbs., develop eating and exercise habits. If your goal is to find the man of your dreams, develop a habit of talking to every attractive man you meet.

  1. Take out the trash. Our lives are full of things that get in the way. They can be possessions, activities, or even people. Get rid of the refuse in your life. Make room for success and minimize the obstacles and distractions you face.

  2. Get help. You can accomplish a lot on your own. You can accomplish much more with help. Odds are that someone has already accomplished your goal. Wouldn’t it make sense to get some guidance and advice since you’re taking the same journey? There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel. Take advantage of the mistakes others made before you.

  3. Accept full responsibility. You’re ultimately responsible for your own success. Even if you have a mentor, it’s still your responsibility. Be comfortable with this. It means that you have control.

  4. Embrace failure. Failing is just getting a result you didn’t intend. Failures are opportunities to perfect your approach. The more you fail, the more successful you’ll become.

  • Everyone fails. However, it’s important not to repeat your failures. Ensure you’re learning something each time.

  1. Use your time wisely. Time is the great equalizer. Kings, CEOs, teachers, students, and ditch diggers all have 24 hours each day. Using these hours wisely is the key. Are you spending your time wisely or wasting it? The most successful people are those the make the most of their 24 hours.

  2. Continue to gain knowledge. More knowledge results in more effective decisions. But avoid the trap of learning at the expense of actually doing something. Spend a few hours each week learning something that you can apply toward achieving your goals.

  3. Persevere. Winners never quit. By the same token, you can’t lose if you don’t quit. Just keep on going. You’ll eventually win as long as you’re willing to persist. If you quit, you’ve lost.

  • Build the perseverance habit into your daily life. When you have the urge to quit an activity, keep going until that activity is completed. It might be folding the laundry, pulling weeds, or working on a report for work. Learn to stick with tasks after you feel the desire to stop. The habit will transfer to other activities.

Are you ready to be a winner? Winning is the result of having a goal, developing useful habits, and persisting until success is achieved. Winning isn’t more work than losing. The work is just different. Begin today to develop the habits you need to win consistently.

Building a Life Full of Success

“Success is personal and defined by oneself.” ― Ken Poirot

Building a Successful Life

success not failureDo you have friends or family members who have achieved immense success in their lives and you find yourself wishing you could have that the same? Are you filled with envy toward the people who have everything they want?

Most of us experience these feelings from time to time, but instead of allowing jealousy to make you miserable and negative, you can create your own success. After all, you are the only person who can control how you define “success.” So instead of spending your time feeling jealous, you can spend your time filling your life with success.

Creating Success for Yourself

Many people spend their lives wondering when success is going to magically appear on their lap but, of course, it never happens this way. If, instead, we spend less time dreaming and more time building, we’d be much happier and success will be well within our grasp.

Rather than waiting passively for success to whisk you away, it’s time to create your own version of success. When you are proactively taking steps every day, you have a better chance of realizing your goals. After all, it’s far more productive than watching other people achieve success.

A great way to create the successful life you have always hoped for is to set clear, actionable goals. How do you want your life to be defined? What do you want to be doing a year from now, five years from now, or even ten years from now? What sort of goals can you set for yourself that will help motivate you and keep you going in the right direction so you can reach out and grab what you want?

You will want to make sure the goals you set are attainable. The best way to do this is to start with short-term goals that help you work towards your long-term goals. This will help you move forward and build momentum without becoming discouraged. Besides, it’ll help to keep your eye on the prize. If you set goals that are too ambitious, you will be more inclined to give up before you even get started.

Building a “Success!” Attitude

Your attitude and thoughts determine your success, so make sure they are congruent. If you have some negative or self-defeating inner dialogues, it will be much more difficult for you to achieve your goals and build the life of success you have always wanted. That’s why it’s a good idea to use the power of positive affirmations to propel you forward.

Affirmations can help people from all walks of life reach great success, even if they started out in the lowest of low places. So remember that success isn’t limited to the rich and famous!

Having a list of affirmations on hand can help you overcome those moments of self-doubt, envy, or even anger that you may feel toward others. Affirmations are simple thoughts like, “Each simple, completed task propels me towards success,” or, “I am worthy of great success.” These affirmations help to remind you of what your goals are and, in turn, remind you that you are worthy of all you desire, and more!
