Surround yourself with positive material

Positive material

When was the last time you immersed yourself in something truly positive? In our fast-paced, often stressful lives, it’s easy to be surrounded by negativity, whether it comes from the news, social media, or even the people around us. This constant exposure to negative influences can feed into self-doubt, making it harder to maintain a positive outlook on life. But by intentionally surrounding yourself with positive material, you can counteract these negative influences and build a stronger, more confident mindset.

Confidence in your abilities to go after your goals can sometimes be difficult to find or keep.

It can sometimes take time to discover the confidence you have inside you. This can be especially true if you are trying something new.

I have a program that can help you to discover what is holding you back from achieving your goals as well as help you set an attainable goal related to where you are in your life and where you are trying to be.

This program also works with you to build up your confidence in being able to reach your goal.

Negativity is pervasive, and it can be surprisingly easy to internalize. Whether it’s a critical comment, a pessimistic news story, or a social media post that makes you feel inadequate, these negative inputs can quickly accumulate, leaving you feeling drained and doubtful. The more negativity you absorb, the harder it becomes to see the bright side of things, and the more likely you are to doubt your abilities and worth. That’s why it’s so important to be intentional about the media and messages you consume.

Surrounding yourself with positive material isn’t just about avoiding negativity; it’s about actively seeking out content that uplifts, inspires, and motivates you. Positive material can come in many forms—books, podcasts, videos, music, or even conversations with optimistic friends. The key is to find sources of positivity that resonate with you and that can help shift your mindset away from self-doubt and toward self-belief.

One of the most effective ways to immerse yourself in positive material is through reading or listening to motivational books or podcasts. These resources often provide valuable insights into how others have overcome challenges and self-doubt, offering practical advice and inspiration that you can apply to your own life. When you regularly engage with content that encourages growth and positivity, you start to internalize those messages, which can help you build resilience against self-doubt.

Another powerful source of positivity is spending time in nature. Nature has a calming and rejuvenating effect that can help clear your mind and provide perspective. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a hike in the mountains, or simply sitting by a lake, being in nature allows you to disconnect from the stresses of daily life and reconnect with yourself. This time away from negative influences can help you recharge and return to your challenges with a more positive and confident mindset.

Positive material can also come from the people you interact with. Surrounding yourself with supportive, encouraging individuals can have a profound impact on your self-esteem and confidence. These are the people who believe in you, who see your potential even when you don’t, and who remind you of your strengths when you’re feeling low. By cultivating relationships with positive, uplifting people, you create a network of support that can help you navigate self-doubt and stay focused on your goals.

Actionable Step: Start by taking an inventory of the media and messages you’re currently consuming. Are they predominantly positive or negative? If you find that you’re absorbing a lot of negativity, make a conscious effort to seek out more positive material. For example, replace time spent scrolling through social media with reading an inspiring book or listening to a motivational podcast. If the news is making you anxious, consider limiting your exposure or seeking out sources that focus on positive stories. Additionally, try to spend more time in nature or with people who uplift and encourage you. By making these small changes, you can create a more positive environment that supports your growth and diminishes self-doubt.

It’s also helpful to create a daily routine that includes some form of positive reinforcement. This could be as simple as starting your day with a few minutes of meditation, reading an inspirational quote, or practising gratitude. By incorporating positivity into your daily life, you build a habit of focusing on the good, which can help counteract the self-doubt that might otherwise creep in.

Immersing yourself in positive material is not about ignoring reality or pretending that challenges don’t exist. It’s about choosing to focus on the things that empower you, that make you feel capable and confident. When you surround yourself with positivity, you create a buffer against the negativity that feeds self-doubt, allowing you to approach life’s challenges with a stronger, more resilient mindset.
