These are quick reads, but they give you lots of information that you can use to get you moving towards success an achieving your goals.
Have a positive mental attitude
To achieve anything that you consider important, you have to believe that you can do it. Your thinking affects your actions. Your chances of success are increased when you believe in yourself that you can do anything.
Use a mentor or coach
It can be a very rewarding experience when you find someone with the knowledge and skills that can help you achieve your goals. They can challenge you and hold you accountable which keeps you motivated and to stay on track.
Having discipline
This is a very important trait. Discipline is the bridge between goals and habit according Jim Rohn. You increase your commitment and practice when you develop discipline. This helps to keep you on course towards your goals.
Visualize
You need to be able to see how your life will change after you achieve your goal. It is also important to be able to see the big picture which is beyond your own life. How will those around you be affected when you achieve your goal. This includes you family, friends and colleagues. What will change in your relationships? When you look beyond yourself you increase the stakes and this makes achieving your goal a lot more important.
Have a growth mindset
Along with thinking positively, you also need to develop a growth mindset. With this mindset, you can cope with change and you have the ability to adjust your plans if it becomes necessary. Plans are necessary, but as changes occur and the circumstances change, you need to be able to adjust and adapt your plans.
Find a role model
Look for someone who has achieved their own goals and study how they did it. Why do you admire them? Model their habits to help you. It takes time, effort and persistence to be successful, it doesn’t just happen. It took J.K. Rowling a lot of time and lots of rejections before finding a publisher for her Harry Potter books. You can gain great insight when you read the biographies and auto-biographies of successful people. You see how their habits helped them to achieve their goals.
Know yourself
You can remove the traits that stop your progress when you understand yourself. Do you procrastinate? How do you work the best? Think about the ways that you stop yourself from achieving your goals. Then consider how you can remove or change them. You have to focus on both your negative and positive traits. Plan on how you can use the positive ones to keep you going forward.
Keep passionate
It is difficult to remain on track to your goal if you don’t have passion. It can be difficult to keep your persistence if you are not really attached emotionally to the final result.
Continue learning
It is important to have an inquiring mind. To expand your knowledge and your skills, you need to keep reading and taking courses. This will also help you to develop a creative mind that will also help you to expand your horizons.
Keep your self-talk positive
One of the biggest blocks to your success can be the voice inside your head. Think positively and turn any negative thoughts into positive ones. There are methods you can use if you are having trouble doing this.
You have some tips to help you to develop your persistence. It is important that you now take action.
