Live the Life You Truly Want To

Many people assume that if they start living the life they want to that they will be outcast from their friends and family. This is actually false, you can still live the life you feel that you should be living without this happening to you. Let’s look at how you can manage this.

No one expects you to always have the exact same viewpoint as them. When you do find yourself in disagreement just be careful about how you show this. While expressing your views, don’t become headstrong and forceful. Instead learn to listen to both sides of the argument or discussion. There doesn’t always have to be a clear winner.

While you may want to dress in a carefree manner, again do this with discretion. If you are visiting your parents or grandparents give them a little respect. In this instance dressing down may be more appropriate. You can still dress however you wish once your visit is over.

Living your own life and being your own person is wonderful. Who doesn’t want to feel carefree and have no boundaries placed upon them? This doesn’t mean that everyone around you will want to do the same. Allow your friends to conform to the majority if that is what they wish. Don’t force actions on them that would make them feel uncomfortable.

When your friends and family see you as authentic this means that you really are being true to yourself. You are not afraid to share your views, raise objections and stand out amongst the crowd.

An authentic person is someone that means what they say, says what they mean and walks the talk! You know the type of person who you are, and you are extremely comfortable living in your own skin.

When you are living the life you want to live you share honestly with others. You are not vulnerable and yet, you know who you can be vulnerable with. You have an inner strength that is often admired by others. You genuinely know how to love, trust and respect the people in your life. Plus you can leave that ego of yours in the background if and when necessary. At the same time you seize every opportunity to learn, grow and explore everything around you.

When you enter a room full of people that you don’t know, and you see some people with their arms crossed, do you approach those people? How about people that look your way and smile? If you said no to the first question and yes to the second, it’s because of a subconscious force at play: body language.

Paying attention to your body language is a crucial aspect of increasing your personal magnetism. People inherently pick up on those signals without much of a thought. They don’t say to themselves, “this guy has his arms crossed so I am not going to approach him.” They simply move on.

There are plenty of books, guides, and seminars that can help us learn more about our own body language. But some of the basics have already been covered; don’t cross your arms if you want people to approach you and make eye contact as often as possible and be sure to smile. These are three of the major ways to improve your body language to make yourself more approachable.

Another way to learn how to use body language to your advantage is to observe people who you are naturally drawn to. Pay attention to the kinds of movements they use as they speak to you. Are they crossing their arms or are they using their hands to express themselves? Perhaps they give you the occasional touch on the shoulder when making a certain statement. Are they focusing their eyes on you and giving you their undivided attention? These are all traits of charismatic people and can be used to increase your magnetism.

Take a look at how others are reacting when you speak. Are they distracted or are they hanging on your every word? If they are checking their smartphones every couple of minutes, you may have some work to do. If they ask you to repeat what you said often, this too is a sign that you should hone in on your body language signals.

Start with small changes. Don’t try to incorporate every change in body language all at once. It will seem too contrived and will not be effective. Continue to observe others you find charismatic and try to incorporate the actions that they use when talking to people. If you are consistent with your changes, they will become second nature over time and people will definitely start being more drawn to you.

Many people get an idea and then immediately start taking action. The problem is, a lot of these folks never finish what they start. They have a great many unfinished projects, but not the staying power to make their goals happen in the real world. To ensure you don’t end up as one of these people, there are certain things you should do before you start taking massive action. While taking these steps won’t guarantee that you will make your dream a reality, they certainly give you a much better chance of success!

Make a commitment

No goal will ever be reached without a firm commitment. Know going in that there will be tough times, setbacks and sacrifices you need to make to reach your goal through massive action steps. Decide if it’s worth the hard work it will take before you get started.

Do your research

Many things you want to tackle are going to need some research before you can determine a plan or strategy. Stay focused as you do the research necessary, but do allow a few tangents if you feel they would be valuable in helping you determine how to best go about taking massive action to meet your goal. You may need to have a time frame in mind of how long you will research, however. It can feel safe to stay in this phase instead of stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking action. Many people never get past this stage, so keep that firmly in mind as you begin.

Make a plan

Once you’ve done your homework, it’s time to create a plan of attack. What should you do first? What’s a reasonable timeline for completing your goal? Will going about it this way or that be better for you. Definitely take the advice of others who have come before you, but remember that just because you do it differently than they did doesn’t mean you are doing it wrong. Use your instinct to plan out your strategy since only you can decide what’s best for your life.

Write down your goals and objectives

It’s fine to think about your goals and objectives–I mean, you have to start somewhere. But don’t stop there. Write down your goals and objectives in as much detail as possible and keep the paper handy. You will need to refer to it before making decisions about future actions or when you get off track and need to remind yourself of why you started the project to begin with.
