Be Accepting Of Yourself While Striving For Greatness

There is absolutely no way for you to be successful and reach your goals until you accept who you are. You have to like yourself and what you do before anyone else will. The world detects how you feel about yourself and often simply shares the opinion you have about who you are. Be yourself and free yourself in the process. You are an individual who is unique. Your talents and abilities, your intelligence and interests, your opinions and tastes, make you who you are. There is no need to hide a part of yourself or alter a part of yourself for the sake of conformity. True success is about freedom and all truly successful people are individualists who have, more or less, accepted and glorified who they are. You should do the same.

At the same time, being yourself does not mean glorying in mediocrity. You need to be the very best version of yourself possible. This means that you have to work at being you. You have to put the time into self-improvement. Acceptance is not an excuse for laziness, cowardice or fear. Life is a privilege. It is a gift. The gift and the privilege of life is that you get to be yourself, the best self you can possibly be. Use the gift, take advantage of the privilege that you’ve been given. Don’t squander the chance. Let your own unique light shine forth. This is the light that will illuminate the path to real success in life. It will also be the light that attracts other people to you.

While this may sound easy, unless you know what you need to accomplish, you could end up wasting your time and energy.

This course “The Success Brain” can help you to understand those areas of your own mind that are holding you back while helping you to develop a truly success brain and mindset that will guide you in your life to really become more successful.

Accepting Rejection – The Cornerstone of Perseverance

accepting rejection

We learn at an early age that we don’t get everything we want. In other words, we have had to deal with rejection since then. This makes you think that people accept rejection easily. The exact opposite is usually true.

People start to develop an invisible shield against rejection. They may show anger or resentment to the people who are serving up the rejection. But, in many cases, it can show who is resilient and who is likely to continue until they get what they want.

No one likes to hear negative comments about themselves. People take it personally. However, knowing the reason for rejection can help change your direction. You can correct the aspects that made people reject you in the first place.

[wp-stealth-ads rows=”1″ mobile-rows=”1″]

This won’t work with everything. For instance, if a person you are attracted to does not return the favor, it may be difficult or impossible to turn this around. Then again, there are numerous stories of people who persevered even when they were rejected time and again, and won the love of their lives.

Another instance where you may face rejection is during a job interview. Many candidates will pass this off as incompetence on the part of the interviewer, and there are certainly cases where this is true. But, you should always try to evaluate the reasons why the interviewer did not choose you. You’d be surprised at how few people even ask for the reasons. Interviewers won’t typically volunteer this information. Many will feel you don’t care if you don’t ask.

In many cases, rejection is not personal. You may not have the necessary skills when seeking a job, or you may not have enough experience, etc. In other cases, it may be somewhat personal, but it may be in your best interest to get rejected. For instance, if you don’t have an aggressive personality, do you want to pursue a career that requires one? If you are in sales, you need to have this driving personality to succeed.

Use rejection to your benefit. People who accept rejection and don’t give up are usually the ones who eventually get that acceptance. Sometimes, the very fact that you are persevering is what turns the tables from rejection to acceptance. Whose to say that next opportunity is not the one that will accept you? You won’t know unless you continue on your quest.

Consider Doing a SWOT Analysis on Yourself

swot

When people create case studies on businesses, they often include a SWOT analysis. SWOT is an acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. If you can do this for business, why not consider doing one for yourself? It can help you gain insight about yourself and reinforce the idea of believing in yourself.

The concept of SWOT is usually diagrammed in quadrants or squares, representing each of the words of the acronym. It’s up to you as to which squares to place each of the words. By convention, the upper-left square is for Strengths, while the lower-left square is for Opportunities. The upper-right square is for Weaknesses, and the lower-right square is for Threats.

Fill up each quadrant with appropriate items relating to the heading of the quadrant. To take this a step further, ask family and friends to help you fill up the quadrants. After you have them all filled, you can evaluate them to see what needs improvement.

Don’t let the negative aspects (Weaknesses, Threats) trip you up when creating your analysis. You are listing them to gain perspective in areas that you need your focus. In fact, some weaknesses you may not want to tackle because it doesn’t interest you. Threats are merely items to be aware of and may help you try to overcome them.

The key to success is to be as honest as possible with yourself about all the items included in the analysis. If you aren’t, it isn’t going to help you much, and you may focus on the wrong items to improve. Further, you may not be as strong in some areas as you believed, which can lead you on the wrong path as well.

A representative SWOT analysis will give you a great foundation for your life, both personally and professionally. You can use it as a tool to advance your goals. You will learn about yourself and who you are. Don’t rush this process. You want it to be as representative of yourself as possible. It’s better to take several days or even weeks than to try to list items for the sake of filling up the quadrants.

Once you feel comfortable that you have the right items for your analysis, you can use it to help you believe in yourself. It’s all there for you to reference, and it can help you to refine your goals and tasks further.

Challenges Are A Great Learning Experience

life-challenges-feature

life-challengesMost people get nervous when they try new activities or challenges. Some people get so anxious and apprehensive about it that they attempt to avoid trying any new activities or challenges whenever and wherever possible. Unfortunately, that approach helps to limit their growth as an individual because it’s trying new activities and challenges that really help you to grow as an individual, achieve your truest potential, and really make the greatest impact on the world. Additionally, you also receive the best benefits (fame, fortune, recognition, etc.) from making the greatest impact on the world, but that only comes from growing as an individual through trying new activities/challenges.

When you try a new activity or challenge, you are stepping outside of your comfort zone to learn something new and improve your skill set. You are looking to improve yourself by going through the experience and learning the process. Chances are high that you will make some mistakes along the way; the process of making mistakes is also a learning experience. Some people shy away from making mistakes out of fear or because they are afraid they will be embarrassed or ridiculed for making them, but in truth, making mistakes is part of the learning process that helps us to grow as individuals and to better ourselves. This is how we learn to achieve our truest and greatest potential.

Virtually no one achieves their greatest potential just doing the same tasks day after day, not experimenting with or experiencing anything new. Sometimes, you have to step outside of doing the ordinary, comfortable things in order to see things from a new light or perspective that enables you to find a better way to do the same, ordinary things or even to create something new that can make life better for many.

By trying new challenges/experiences, you can learn a new skill set, plus you learn more about yourself and your ability to handle and rebound from difficulty when you likely make a mistake or two during the process. Life doesn’t go smoothly that often; part of adjusting to and making the most out of life is to be able to overcome difficulties and still producing at a high level. Going through new challenges and experiences can help you to gain a new perspective on things, learn to overcome difficulties or challenges (especially unexpected ones), and boost your self-confidence to where you are confident you can handle unexpected difficulties and be able to achieve your greatest potential.

Why Relying On Yourself Helps You To Grow As An Individual

individual-growthIn this world, there’s really only one true source that we can rely on to make our lives better and to achieve our fullest potential: ourselves. Yes, we may have parents, spouses/significant others, children, grandchildren, other family members, friends, and colleagues who can help us out from time to time, but the only real control over what we do and what we achieve is over ourselves. We can and need to rely on ourselves to achieve our greatest potential; no one else can go ahead and force us to achieve greatness or do the things that we are capable of. We need to convince and motivate ourselves to do it continuously, which means we must rely on ourselves to help us grow as individuals and achieve the great things we are capable of doing.

If we know we have a skill that can help to make a positive impact on our world, others may encourage us to use that skill, but only we have the power to actually use that skill. Therefore, it is vital that we rely on ourselves to get things done, take control of situations, improve ourselves as individuals, and really work to achieve our greatness. No one else can do that for us; they can only control their own inner greatness and bringing it out into the world. We have to do that for ourselves to truly make an impact on our world in the best way we can.

Therefore, it is vital that you attempt to do things for yourselves and learn from your mistakes. It is also vital to broaden your activities and tasks so that you learn new skills and abilities that can help you to grow as an individual and be more confident in various situations. Again, no one can really force you to take on these new challenges and tasks except for you.

It’s also important that you don’t always look to someone else to handle a situation or an unexpected challenge that arises. Achieving your own greatness means being able to handle unexpected situations and challenges, and there won’t always be someone else there to handle such a situation or challenges; at times, you will be the only one who can make a real difference, which means you must be able to rely on yourself and your abilities to make that difference. Being able to do so can help you to grow as an individual and enable you to reach your greatest potential and impact your world in the most powerful way possible.
