What’s the use of success if you don’t have the health to enjoy it? Studies show that a healthier body contributes to a sharper mind, greater resilience and improved productivity. Yet, health often takes a backseat in the pursuit of career goals, leaving many to pay the price later.
Confidence in your abilities to go after your goals can sometimes be difficult to find or keep.
It can sometimes take time to discover the confidence you have inside you. This can be especially true if you are trying something new.
I have a program that can help you to discover what is holding you back from achieving your goals as well as help you set an attainable goal related to where you are in your life and where you are trying to be.
This program also works with you to build up your confidence in being able to reach your goal.
You can find out more about this program at Confidology, a funny name but a serious program.
You can contact me to talk about this or any other aspect of confidence and success at michael@coachmichaelw.com

If you are not ready to commit to a full program, I have a self-paced course on Udemy that may be of interest. You can find out about the course and register at Confidence and Motivation Development and Maintenance
In the fast-paced modern world, neglecting your well-being may seem like a necessary trade-off for success. Skipping meals, sacrificing sleep, and putting off exercise can feel justified when deadlines loom. But the truth is, this approach only undermines your ability to perform at your best. Maintaining good health isn’t just about avoiding illness; it’s about cultivating the energy and stamina you need to excel in every area of life.
Physical health is the foundation of your success. Regular exercise improves not only your physical fitness but also your mental clarity, mood and stress management. When you’re active, your brain releases endorphins — chemicals that enhance feelings of well-being and help you tackle challenges with a positive attitude. Even 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as walking or yoga, can make a significant difference.
Equally important is your diet. What you eat fuels your body and mind. Relying on processed foods or skipping meals might save time in the short term, but it drains your energy and diminishes focus. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains provides the nutrients your body needs to function optimally.
Sleep is another cornerstone of health that’s often overlooked. While it’s tempting to burn the midnight oil, chronic sleep deprivation reduces cognitive function, weakens the immune system and leads to burnout. Prioritizing 7-8 hours of quality sleep a night can sharpen your decision-making skills, boost creativity and improve your overall well-being.
Mental health is as vital as physical health. Chronic stress, if unmanaged, can lead to serious conditions such as anxiety and depression. Practices like mindfulness, meditation and deep breathing exercises can help you stay grounded and manage stress effectively. Taking breaks, connecting with loved ones and pursuing hobbies are simple yet powerful ways to recharge your mental health.
Actionable Step:
A common mistake is thinking that health changes need to be drastic to be effective, leading to overwhelm and inaction. Start small. Commit to one healthy habit today — whether it’s drinking an extra glass of water, taking a short walk during your lunch break or adding a vegetable to your meals. Build on these small wins gradually to create lasting habits.
Staying healthy is a lifelong commitment, but its rewards are immediate and far-reaching. A well-nourished, rested and active body supports clearer thinking, better decision-making and greater resilience in the face of challenges.
When you prioritize your health, you’re investing in your most important asset — you. By taking care of your physical and mental well-being, you ensure that you have the energy, focus and strength to achieve your goals and enjoy the journey along the way.
