Your Actions Speak Volumes

Action Speaks Louder

We’ve all been in that place. You have a pretty good idea what must be done, but you can’t do it. You know it is the appropriate thing to do, but you just can’t act. You are stuck. You mull the circumstances over and over in your head, but still you don’t really do anything about it. You wait – wait for life to come along and work it out for you. Then you accept the outcome. There are times when this approach might be okay, perhaps even the best choice; but most of the time we just don’t have the courage to make a decision.

That’s what it boils down to, you know- courage. Well, I know that’s the case for me anyway. I have taken to examining myself at such times when I find it difficult to decide what best to do. My discovery is that, even when it is abundantly clear that one action is for the greater good, fear stops me from acting of my own will. I look at the “possible” consequences and I can’t bear to move forward. What about the other action? Well, the fallout of that might also be unbearable, so I don’t take that action either. I can’t stay where I am. I must do one of the other. Repeatedly I return back to the same fork in the road, and I don’t act on either one, hoping that the next time I return there would be more clarity. Sadly, clarity hardly comes. Eventually, when I do act, a lot more damage has been done than was necessary…damage that could have been avoided if I only had the courage to act sooner.

Well, more damage isn’t always done, one could argue. It’s true. Still, at the very least, you take away your control of the situation by becoming a victim. Surely that’s wrong, you say. What if you rush into a decision that you later come to regret? Wouldn’t it be better to consider things fully before you do something stupid? Once again, that’s correct. However, for most people, the consideration goes on for way longer than it should. If there is something else that should happen first, then that’s fine; but this is not the case either, for most people. It’s just that they don’t want to do what is necessary.

Making decisions is a key activity in taking control of your life. It’s a skill in itself. Some people seem to have the ability to do it better than others. For these people, it seems to be an innate ability. For others, well it requires development. You have to practice. You have to flex those “decision-making” muscles. You can’t afford to wait around for things to happen. You have to confront your fear…fear of failure and of missed opportunities.

In order to develop the ability to act when the situation demands it, it’s ironic that the best ally is a more “passive” resource. It’s acceptance. When you can learn to accept life, then you are able to do more without being paralyzed by fear. Think about it. You can’t control everything. This is a fact. You can’t see the future (unless you are psychic or something, in which case skip this); another fact. You will make mistakes in life; but you can recover and move on. Accept all of this and you’re well on your way to being able to make tough decisions.

Acceptance is not so difficult. You do it all the time. Do you drive? Well, if you do, you have to take it for granted that the driver coming from the opposite direction is not a lunatic who is going to run into you. If you’ve ever crossed the street at a Traffic Light, or gotten in a car with someone else driving, then you’re doing a lot of accepting. How do you do it? Well, you don’t have a choice. You have to get to where you’re going. You wouldn’t get there if you refuse to get in a car because you are afraid you might crash. It’s a risk you have to take because you are convinced that it there is almost no choice. Well, how about applying that acceptance to your decision? There are no guarantees in life (generally speaking). You might have made a mistake, but at least you had the courage to choose. And who’s to say you wouldn’t have gotten struck by lightning if you had taken the other path. You just can’t know that it would have been better if you hadn’t acted as you did. Accept this as well. It will give you confidence. Trust me, with confidence; you are already half-way to your destination.

So step up to the plate. Choose. Don’t be a victim of circumstance. You can do so much more knowing that you are responsible for the choices that have delivered you to where you are in life.

To your success

The Fuel For Your Life – Motivation

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. ” ― Walt Disney Company

We all think we know what motivation is and how it is used in our life. But do we really understand it?

The author gives us another view on motivation as the fuel that drives us towards our destination in life.

Motivation is the fuel not the destination – by Ray Adler

MotivationMotivation, motivation what is motivation! Many people think they know what motivation is, but do they? A little research will show you that the dictionary definition of motivation is “the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behaviour”. Ask people to define motivation, very few will give such a concise response. This is because at some level, motivation is intrinsically involved with every aspect of our lives. We have to have a certain level of motivation to achieve anything from the simplest tasks such as getting out of bed or going shopping, through to life goals such as having a successful career. Unfortunately, most people see motivation, as part of the destination rather than the fuel that is needed to get us to reach our chosen destination.

Not understanding what motivation is usually leads to disappointment in life either on a spiritual or materialistic level. One of the most common areas where the lack of a clear definition of what motivation is occurs in the area of goal setting. We all know and understand the concept of setting goals and working towards them to achieve what we want in life, but if you speak to any number of people about setting and achieving goals, they will tell you that their goals motivate them to achieve what they really want out of life. This fundamental confusion over what motivation is often leads to people not achieving their goals and full potential, in fact it often leads to greater de-motivation, as after each setback the belief in the goal becomes less strong leading to a perceived lower level of motivation to achieve the goal. It becomes a vicious circle. It is a situation that many of us have faced and the difficulties that this kind of position brings. It takes a long time for us to realise that goals and motivation are not the same and we should not treat them as such.

When you set your goals you’re laying out the route and the destination you want to get to. When we are setting goals we are telling ourselves what do we want in life and how are we going to get there. What steps do we need to take? A list of goals will always allow us to move forward and give us a purpose in life, but they are not motivation in themselves.

Motivation is the fuel that inspires us to reach are goals and desires and allows us to keep getting up and moving towards our goals whenever we have a setback. Getting motivated and staying motivated gives us the energy we need to reach our goals in the shortest time possible. Motivation is required to meet our goals and goals are required to give purpose to our motivation. The two work hand in hand. If you get the motivation right you can achieve anything. So think seriously about how to get motivated and stay motivated so you can achieve whatever you desire.

Staying Motivated

“Your talent determines what you can do. Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do. Your attitude determines how well you do it.” ― Lou Holtz

In our daily lives we sometimes find it hard to stay motivated. There are things that you can do to help you to motivate yourself.

The author gives some advice and methods that you can use to keep yourself motivated.

How to Stay Motivated – by Rotem Cohen

motivationMany times we find “stuff” interfering with going after our goals and dreams. It’s hard to stay motivated, stay on track and difficult to move forward. If we allow daily distractions to interfere with our tasks at hand we are inviting in guilt, defeat and lack of purpose. Staying motivated is an art. We are going to show you how to be an artist of motivation!

There are steps to take to stay motivated. No matter what life throws at you, you’ll be able to hang in there, complete your tasks at hand and reach your goals. The exhilaration of seeing a project through to the end will give you more motivation to carry into every area of your life.

Develop the attitude of interest. Discover your passions and go after them. The happiest people, they say, are those people who do the things they love the most. It is not coincidental that they are the most motivated people as well. After all, passion and motivation go hand in hand. They are closely intertwined to create a person who is full of zest for living.

Nearly all successful people are very passionate about what they do. Why do you think Lance Armstrong, despite being diagnosed with terminal cancer, went on to win 7 consecutive Tour de France trophies? It is not only because he refused to give in to life’s cruel joke, but because he is also very passionate about cycling. We are not saying that it has to take some traumatic circumstances in our lives before we find the thing we are most passionate about. In most cases, this very thing is right in front of you. You just don’t see it and therefore cannot accept it.

Find the thing that can spark and sustain your enthusiasm. Then channel all your energies towards that passion. This sparks motivation, productivity and satisfaction.

But what do you do when you are stuck with things that you are not truly passionate about? When passion is lacking and your zeal is at its all time low, interest will suffice. Be interested in everything you do, no matter how boring, tedious or nonsensical it may seem. Find meaning in everything you take part in. Take the time to be curious and interested. Otherwise, your life will feel like a living hell.

Having said that, always find reasons to be happy about the things you do, the goals you are pursuing, the dreams you are trying to realize, and the life you are trying to live. Never lose sight of happiness and never let it slip away.

Maintain an elevated level of energy. The mere act of smiling at yourself can recharge your energy. Having no energy almost always ensures that you won’t feel as much motivated as you need to accomplish your goals. Always take the time to recharge yourself – sleep, eat, breathe deeply and consciously, relax, and rest. Do whatever it takes to always keep your energy high.

Act as if. Translate positive emotions into actions. If you are not feeling positive about anything, try to act as if you’re positive. Sometimes, despite the lack of motivation, you can still feel motivated when you deliberately act with enthusiasm. Motivation is a choice. You’ll find a peace and confidence when you choose motivation.

Motivation and Passion In Your Life

Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

Create a Passion and Motivation for Life

positive attitudeAre you trying to build up your self-confidence, something that can give you some help is to find your passion and motivation for getting up in the morning. If you are really really down that you don’t even know if you have a passion in life, then it’s time to sit down and create one. This will give you something to work for and will also give you an inner glow that will radiate outward to anyone that comes in contact with you.

If you have a passion in life this is like a magnet drawing people to you. This is also one of the best cures for shyness that is part of a lack of self confidence. when you first meet people, speak to them enthusiastically about those things that are going on in your life and share your plans for the future. Even if you are a bit shy when you first meet new people and you’re not feeling all that confident, fake it until it becomes a real factor for you.

If it bothers you to meet new people or you’re still a bit shy, keep in mind that the more you talk about your passion in life the more positive and confident energy will shine through. Once you find your passion, don’t be frightened to talk about it. Passion is a motivating factor and will project confidence you know what you want out of life and that you’re going to get it. You don’t have to be surprised others don’t want to jump on board and live your passionate dream with you.

You may have to talk yourself up a bit before you start believing your passion, but the more you talk to others about things that get you excited, it becomes obvious that you are someone that is going places in their life. This excitement catches on and suddenly you are popular because people can feel the confidence that is pouring out of you. The one thing that you will find that you need to keep an eye on is to make sure you’re not doing all the talking, encourage others to share their opinions and passions too.

When you get others to start talking about themselves, this can make you appear even more confident to them. When you get people talking and feeling important, this makes you look great and you are someone they like to be around. At the same time, you must have make your interest in them genuine and sincere, because just as appearing interested makes you appear confident with a healthy dose of self-esteem, insincerity will make you appear arrogant and condescending.

Hopefully you already have a passion in your life or at least something that motivates you to display your best qualities to others and to help you appear very confident. If you don’t however, you may want to consider creating one for yourself so you have something to use and project yourself at a confident person.

Motivation is the key to Success in each of our Lives – by Aniekan Udodong

Motivation is the key to success in each of our lives. While success is something that is relatively personal, and means something different to everyone, the ultimate goal of success is to achieve a goal, or a set of goals. Let’s say that you asked ten different people what they feel an appropriate definition for success is, you may be surprised to find that each of these individuals have a different perception of success. While it is true that we all have our own perception of this term, there is one thing that remains consistent and unchanged, and that is that motivations are the key to success.

There are a number of things that get us excited. Let’s say that you got that new job that you have had your eye on, or you just discovered that it is quite possible to get started in a home based business that can be financially lucrative. Chances are, you are total psyched about your new found opportunity, right? This excitement that you experience during times in which you have been given an opportunity for success is a type of motivation. It has been found, in addition to excitement being a type of motivation, that motivation is also a type of excitement. In order to succeed in life, it is equally important to be excited about the dreams and aspirations that you have, and in turn, this will result in the motivation that is required to be successful.

Motivation comes with its share of complications. The most common complication that is experienced when it comes to motivation is staying motivated. While it may be easy to remain motivated for a short amount of time, it takes a great deal of discipline to stay motivated over the course of a long period of time. If you want to achieve success in your life, you must have a number of creative approaches that will assist in maintaining the proper amount of motivation to do so. It is absolutely necessary to ensure that you dedicate time each and every single day to the motivation that you need.

One of the first ways that you can achieve a heightened state of Motivation is to read book that are available on the subject. There are a number of authors that are exceptional when it comes to sharing with their readers the secrets of success and motivation. These authors include Stephen Convey, John C. Maxwell, Dennis Waitley, and even Joyce Meyer. Just dedicating approximately fifteen to thirty minutes a day to the task of reading these types of books can be extremely helpful in motivating you while you work to achieve the success that you desire.

While this is just one example of a way that you can maintain a high level of Motivation it is a very positive and productive manner to stay on top of the excitement and motivation that you need to experience in order to achieve the goals that you have set for yourself. By achieving these goals, you will easily become the master of your destiny. You will truly achieve the success that you anticipate. In addition to this, you will learn effective strategies for being the best person that you can be! Get motivated! This is the key to your success
